The West had reported new figures revealed the 2021 live cattle exports out of the Wyndham Port were the highest in at least five years, bucking trends seen in WA’s south where shipments have dwindled.
Cambridge Gulf Limited CEO, Tony Chafer quoted that he’d anticipated another strong six months for live cattle exports, which could bring home a 10-year export record for the 2021-22 financial year.
“We’re expecting about another five ships through Wyndham this financial year (2021-22) and are on track for about 45,000 head to be exported by the end of financial year.
The last time we had more than 45,000 was 2009-10, when we had 66,000.”
